High Key?

Shot this the other day in my color portrait class. I think this is the only portrait I've done in color so far for that class. The prof doesn't seem to mind, so I'll keep doin' what I do.

Much more high-key than my usual photos. Shot from a different angle with a different light setup. Just one strobe with a grid coming from above and directly camera right. I toyed with removing the line in the sidewalk, but I think it provides some good balance. Don't take my word for it.

What do you think?

Have a great Tuesday!

Regarding the sidewalk line, it is somewhat visually distracting to me, though I like the depth of field. When 'shopped out, it allows a tighter crop -- enabling a more traditional "portrait" framing format?

I think without the line she looks like she's in some tannish-grey abyss.

You say this is high-key, but I would put it more along the lines of over-highlighted (if that makes sense). High-key is throughout the image, and you have some elements (pavement) giving this image a dull and drab look. Sorry bud

This post got a surprising number of comments! Thanks for your feedback everyone!
I happen to disagree with everyone who commented so far - but that's the beauty of it!

I appreciate criticism, and there's never any need to apologize when criticizing my work, ideas, or opinions!
