Preston, Profotos, Motorcycle

My buddy Preston of Trauscht Photography recently got himself some new lights. As required by the laws of the photo-gods, we spent a day shooting with his new Profoto D1 heads as soon as he unpacked them.

Shame he isn't actually a motorcycle mechanic...

Anyway. 5' octa camera right for the key. bare head camera left and behind some shelving units, nuking through the workbench and the cabinets for some background.

Hardest part was getting the exposure right for the headlight to show up; it is old and not very bright. I think I ended up with both lights near the bottom of their power capabilities.

It was great working with profotos again and shooting with Preston. Check out his work at www.trauschtphotography.com

On the street...

Decided to get out of the house and wander the streets a little bit with my lady. Shot a bunch from the hip and even more with only a vague idea of where I was aiming. Aside from the focus issues (should have done it at ISO 800 at f/5.6) I think they came out well. Like the feel of the shallow depth of field from f/2.8 too.

Black and white. JPG. red filter. ISO 200. f/2.8.

Arizona Off-Camber Event

A random selection from the inagural "Off-Camber" event - the replacement for Sedonafest.

I spent most of my time relaxing, reading and selling Canyon Coolers instead of taking pictures.

And a few Instagram photos as well...
